VOLUNTEER POSITIONS ~ A LITTLE MORE INVOLVED
Vice President II – Seeking Member
Busiest Times of Year: Busiest at the beginning of the year but flattens out quite soon; additional special projects as desired
Help with recruiting for BOE functions and roles at Chesak & Martin
Preside at all meetings
Responsible to oversee and assist assigned Committees
Participate in regular events throughout the calendar year
Auditor – (seeking 3 co-chairs )
Busiest Times of Year: During two annual audits
Twice a year, examines and prepares report on the PTA financial books
Provide written and verbal report at PTA General Membership meeting
Good job for parent working daytime hours
Dad’s Club - Be an active paid in full member of the Chesak/ Martin PTA for the current school year. Sign and submit Code of Ethics documentation. Attend all General Membership Meetings. Prepare status reports for the VP by the 1st of each month. Promote involvement in Chesak and Martin Elementary schools by Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, or any male who plays a role in the raising of a CM student. Encourages the enrichment of their kid’s lives though on and off school campus gatherings and activities, such as local pizza night fundraisers, Donuts with Dad Family Event, etc. Plan and execute the Real Men Can Cook Chili Cook-off event with the Family Events Committee. Plan and execute a Dad Night Out event with the children at a Kane County Cougars Game in May or June. Prepare a committee summary 30 days prior to the May GM meeting. The summary will be presented as part of the GM meeting agenda. Submit Building Usage forms to each school when necessary. Submit Dads Club articles and photos to the PTA website and/ or newsletter each month. Volunteer at 25% of PTA activities throughout the school year. Ensure all PTA programs are being done in accordance with PTA Mission Statement and within PTA guidelines. Turn over any pertinent items, papers, records, etc. to your successor within 30 days of election.
Parliamentarian – (Open )
Busiest Times of Year: On-going
Decided each January for the following school year as determined by President and executive board
Must attend all PTA general meetings to ensure all present act within Bylaws, and within some approximation of parliamentary procedure (i.e. Robert's Rules of Order)
Chair an ad-hoc Bylaws Committee to review bylaws and standing rules annually (formal adoption of new bylaws is performed bi-yearly)
During the Spring responsible to recruit and enroll participation and commitment for open positions on the executive board as well as committees
Oversee the Nominating Committee Process
Form the committee (comprised of 3 committee chairs & 2 general members)
Remain available to assist at their request. Parliamentarian meets with the committee only if s/he has been elected to the committee
Report nominations to the General Membership to be voted on for election (all nominees shall be presented to the general membership at least ten (10) days prior to the general membership meeting in May, at which time additional nominations may be made from the floor)

R.E.S.E.E.D.- Bill Heiden (seeking co-chair)
Busiest Times of Year: On-going
A co-chair with enthusiasm for nature, natural beauty and educational benefits of outdoor settings for the Beautification and Garden Committee
Though some garden experience is preferred an extra pairs of hands and ideas is more important
Commitment to one Fundraiser in spring of Annual Flower Sale.
Help assist in maintaining a volunteer group for care of a flower and prairie garden.
Help create other landscape feature as needed which may include adding, replacing and tending to trees and shrubs etc. from time to time until established
Educate students, staff, and families on healthy habits regarding the school's indoor environment as well as its surrounding grounds
Time is generally after school and/ or on weekends
Assist Executive Board with application for National PTA “Go Green” Award
