This is will be my 4th year involved with the Chesak/ Martin PTA. My husband and I joined the PTA because of the limitations we
both had being parents that worked full time outside the home. I wanted to be involved in the school in a volunteer capacity, but
could not help during the day. I knew from my own mother being involved in PTA when I was a child that it was probably something
I could juggle outside of work hours and do remotely from home.

My oldest son is going into 3rd grade at Martin in the fall, and my youngest son will be going into 1st grade. My daughter, the baby
of our family, is still in preschool... so I will be part of the Chesak/ Martin community for many years to come. I have been CM PTA
President for the past two years and am excited to take on another term leading this terrific group of parents and educators. I am
so proud of what we have done in the past few years to really make us appealing as a volunteer organization, and bring our school
community together as a cohesive group. I love the fact that this group is so diverse, and we come with so many different
backgrounds and experiences to share, but we all have a common goal... to be positive advocates for the students in the Chesak
and Martin community.

In our free time we enjoy spending time on annual vacations, and watching football. We are also involved in LITHYAA and Huntley
Mustang Youth Football. But beware, we are a house divided during football season with myself a Chicago Bear fan, and my
husband a Green Bay Packer fan!

This year is the first year I have been a member of the PTA.  I joined so that I could be involved with my childrens' school and meet
new families.  I am excited to be joining the executive board this year as the secretary. I have 4 children:  a son going into 2nd
grade, a son going into 1st grade, a daughter who is 4 and will be in her last year of preschool, a son who is 2, and a daughter who
will be arriving sometime in June.  The kids and their activities take up most of my time but I am looking forward to being able to
serve on the PTA's executive board and having a voice in the upcoming year!

I have been a member of the Chesak/Martin PTA for 3 years and the Treasurer for the last two years.  I have one son who will be
starting the third grade in the Fall of 2011.  I have always been active in my son’s activities from coaching baseball to being his
den leader in Cub Scouts so becoming active in the PTA was an easy decision.  Volunteering for the PTA has allowed me to stay
active in his school life after hours since I work full time at AT&T and I am unable to volunteer during the day.  In the Fall and
Winter, I bowl one night a week and during the Summer I occasionally find time to squeeze in a round of golf.

This will be my 2nd year on the Chesak/Martin PTA.  I have 1 son entering 1st grade.  I joined the PTA when my son started
Kindergarten because through being on the executive board I have been able to help guide some of the decisions and activities we
do to help the PTA grow.

When not traveling for work I keep my wife company being as involved as possible in the many activities of our son.  The PTA keeps
us up to date on the many activities happening in the school and is a great demonstration of the power of many volunteers when
you look at all the great things that are made possible in the school through the work and funding provided by the PTA.  I am excited
about serving on the executive board again, and look forward to a great school year!

Daunel Czarnecki
Hello, my name is Daunel Czarnecki.  I have three children; a daughter at Marlowe, a son at Martin, and a son at Chesak.  I joined
the PTA three years ago, serving the first two years as Secretary on the Executive Board and the past year in my current role.  I was
recruited to join the PTA because there was a need for leadership at that time.  I had no expectations going in, but I did know that by
being involved in the PTA I would be more involved in my children’s education and by being involved I would set a tremendously
important example for my children regarding stewardship and the importance of giving back to your community.

I have found over the past three years that serving through the PTA is a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.  Through this
organization I have experienced many things:  how the PTA is funded; where, why, and how the funds are spent; the inner workings
of each of the schools; the activities we support; the policies that are set, why they are set, and how they affect our students and
staff.  But more than that, I have met a very dedicated group of people who care very deeply about the lives of the children, the staff,
and our community as a whole, and I’ve made some lasting friendships and had a lot of fun!  In addition to my PTA involvement, I
currently work two different part-time jobs.

Because we are a total sports family, I spend a lot of time taxiing the kids around to their practices and games, and watching them
grow into wonderful people.  As a family we are also very involved in various church ministries.  And if there’s any time leftover at the
end of the day I love to read and catch up with friends whenever possible.

This will be my 3rd year on the Chesak/Martin PTA.  I have 2 boys. My oldest will be in 2nd grade in the fall, and my youngest will be
starting his last year in the D158 preschool at Martin.  I joined the PTA when my oldest started Kindergarten because I think it's
important to be involved in your child's education, and the PTA is a great opportunity to have a voice.

In my goal to be more involved, I have met some really wonderful families, and have fun participating in various PTA activities.
When I'm not driving my kids around, sitting at one of their activities cheering them on, volunteering for school events, or helping out
in their classrooms, I enjoy cooking and my new-found exercise addiction of running.  Because of my 2 boys, and my husband, I
have now become a football and a hockey fan!  I am excited about serving on the executive board, and look forward to a great
school year!
